During my editing process on Photoshop, I saved various drafts so that you can see the different stages of my editing. My first draft was to see what fitted, for example what I could revolve around the film title, then advance to putting some cover lines in place.
At this stage, I was able to put cover lines onto my magazine, however not in the correct position and getting an idea of the overall look of the magazine.
Now that I had plastered cover lines over the magazine, I was able to chose the best fitting and sounding regarding other magazines I have looked at - fitting the conventions of horror special magazines.
My background choices also varies, playing around with different colours to see which fit the genre and looked most authentic. Here are some examples of the more 'extreme' choices of colour which were intended to stand out as a mainstream magazine would, however I decided that they grey looked more appropriate in the end.
After placing down my banners, and making sure my cover lines git in the correct position, I was able to play around with the colour scheme - making certain words stand out by putting them in various colours relating to the colour scheme, and making the spacing between letters look appropriate.
